Eat Great and Feel Great
Burger Planet has decided to help make America stronger and healthier with their new menu items.

GREEN BAY, WIS.- Burger Planet has recently added new menu items to assist their customers in living healthier lifestyles. “Burger Planet cares about its customers. For more than seven decades, the company has succeeded because it put customers first. We listen to our customers. And our customers desire healthy choices, of which we offer many,” said Burger Planet CEO James E Mullenbach lll.

Gerard Dubois, Burger Planet’s top chef, is excited for the new changes coming to the menu. “In the past year, we added white meat chicken breasts to our menu. We offer consumers the option to buy the chicken breast wrapped in lettuce in case they are on a low-carb diet. They also can ask us to hold the mayo for a calorie reduction of 500 calories. None of our other competitors offers a similar entree." Customers will have their choice of apples, grapes, peaches, pineapple, or bananas. The company is excited because none of the competitors offer those types of fruits.

Jayne Petersen is a fitness expert who worked with talk show host Opal Whitcomb, has been hired by Burger Planet. The essential plan is to have Petersen assist in launching a comprehensive program to give guidance to those who are interested in taking advantage of eating healthier. Burger Planet will still be offering their famous original menu.

James E. Mullenbach l founded the Burger Planet in 1934. It has constantly brought great customer service and food to this ever changing world. Their whole goal is to give the customers what they want. It originated in Green Bay, Wis., and employs nearly 50,000 people.

PR 2300: Dominoes Pizza new campaign

Dominoes Pizza is making a big push to show their new pizza and how it beats the competition. The PR group does a great job taking the complaints customers have given them, and making the business better from those complaints. It is great to see the company actually go to the house of those who complained, and give them their latest pizza.

PR 2300: Tiger Woods will appear to the public

It has been recently announced that Tiger Woods will make his first appearance into the media since November. Tiger was beaten by his wife after she found him sleeping around with other women.

I think whoever is in charge of Tiger's public relations, probably has his hands full right now. There have been many issues giving Tiger a bad name, but I think so far his PR staff has done a good job showing how he is getting better.

PR 2310: Business Letter Complaint

c/o Dick Borgman, CEO
Bend, OR, 97701

Dear Mr. Borgman,

On Dec. 20, 2009, I purchased some XD wheels from your store in Logan, Utah for $900. The service I received was great. The salesman I worked with gave me the best price he could, which made me very happy. I have always received great service from Les Schwab. I am writing this letter because I appreciate Les Schwab and I want to show you a minor problem that I have encountered since my purchase.

The product has not performed well for me because the wheels were bent. I have not received any satisfaction from the company, nor have I received any great customer service since I made the purchase. I was simply told that I would have to work it out with the wheel company, but when I called them, they said I had to go through Les Schwab. When I relayed that to your store, they simply said there was nothing they could do.

To resolve this problem, I would appreciate my money back, or some different wheels. Enclosed are copies of my receipts, warranty, model and serial numbers.

I look forward to your reply and resolution to my problem. I will wait until April 1 before I talk to the Better Business Bureau or file a complaint to the Attorney General’s Office. Please contact me at the below address or by phone at 435-555-7616.

Sincerely,

Tyson Ballard

PR 2310: United Breaks Guitars

To many of us, going to the airport is not an easy task. It is very frustrating to make sure you arrive on time for your flight with all your liquids in one bag ready to go. Not to mention the delays, long lines, cancellations, weather conditions, and so on. In most cases, the airlines do their best to accommodate passengers in making sure you get the best treatment for your inconvenience. In my many flights that I have taken around the world, I have received great customer service from the airlines. Dave Carroll however, has a different story that I’m sure will change the way United Airlines does business for a long time to come. This is one problem that United Airlines did have control over, but didn’t take action against; cost them a great hit to their business.

Customer service is something that should be taken very seriously. Dave Carroll chose United, and had is $3,500 guitar damaged in the process. His claims that he made to the different airline employees were always rejected. He was continually passed from one person to the next trying to find someone to listen to his claim. There are many instances that people go through on a daily basis with any company that involves effective customer service to solve issues before they become big problems. How could United Airlines helped Dave from the beginning to solve his problem?

Only part of the problem was the fact that Dave's guitar was broken. If you wrong another person, it is vital to make your apologies to that person as soon as possible to diffuse the issues before they become bombs. It is the same in business, if those airline employees would have solved Dave’s problem from the start, we wouldn’t be having this discussion about “United Breaks”.
Airlines advertise great customer service because it is a tough business to continually receive customers. If you watch the airline commercials, read their ads, and receive their brochures, they tell you how much they love and appreciate their customers.

As I have been studying public relations, I have begun to realize how important it is to “practice what you preach”. As a public relations and marketing group, United needs to make sure they realize that their customers are the life blood of their business so they don’t have another Dave Carroll situation on their hands. To some extent, I do understand why United was reluctant to give Dave money for his guitar. I work for ICON Health & Fitness in the sales department. We have to care about customer service just as much as we do selling the machines. Once they have received the product, if there are any issues, it is vital to resolve their concerns before it causes and uproar. We don’t give free machines to anyone with an issue, but we do carefully analyze the problem, and we take the necessary steps to resolve it.

Dave Carroll told United that he would be writing a song about his experience. After two days of the song being Youtube, the song had received 2 million hits! That whole PR department for United should be fired for not taking quick enough actions.

PR 2300: Toyota recall

Ray LaHood, transportation secretary. During a Congressional panel yesterday to discuss the recalls, LaHood mouthed 3 words that he instantly regretted. When asked what Toyota owners affected by the recall should do, he said: “if anybody owns one of these vehicles, stop driving it.” So, “stop driving it” were the three words he instantly apologized for saying out loud, calling it a “misstatement.”

It seems very strange to me that someone in the PR business would give a "misstatement" like that over something so important.
