PR 2300: Brita Filters

Recently, Brita ran an ad talking about the use of water bottles. They added that the U.S. used enought water bottles to stretch around the world twice. They then added how their filter can conserve plastic.

I thought it was a very good ad to show public awareness on how many water bottles we consume.

Great customer service comes before great sales.
Customer service is the life blood for ICON Health & Fitness.

LOGAN, Utah- ICON Health & Fitness did not meet their sales goal for this quarter. The company was down 10 % this quarter in sales. After meeting with different regional managers from companies such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Sports Authority, and Sears, ICON decided the problem lies within their poor service during this quarter. “After much thought to why our sales are down, we found that customers are tired of the hold time they spend in the customer service queue. This has led to many poor reviews that have spread quickly,” said the marketing director Ryan Dunkley.

Ryan Dunkley met with the head of customer service Dan Jones. The plan was set to increase the number of customer service representatives from 50 to 100 within a matter of six weeks. “The goal to grow our service reps to 100 within six weeks will be challenging, but something needs to be done to lower the queue volume and increase our sales”, said Dan Jones.

Dunkley and Jones met with the engineering department to discuss the main problems with the equipment that cause the most service calls. “After our discussion with the engineers, we found at least one item on each piece of equipment that can be improved”, said Dunkley. Plans have been set for May to have those parts replaced.

ICON Health & Fitness was formally known as Weslo and Proform. The company bought Nordictrack in 1997 and the name was then changed to ICON Health & Fitness. ICON is currently the leading manufacturer for fitness equipment in the world and employs roughly 2,400 people.
